Soon to be known as the ‘Oscars’ of the black beauty and fashion industry, Black Beauty Communications recently launched the Black Beauty and Fashion Awards™ at the House of Commons this summer. Hosted by Chi Onwurah MP, the opening event welcomed industry movers and shakers and a flurry of social media influencers.

“The Black Beauty and Fashion Awards promote equality and celebrate diverse beauty, giving consumers of black beauty products a voice that can be heard clearly.

“We have come a long way – there are now supermodels with darker skin tones. But there is still a long way to go.

“Black beauty will be political until the day it is seen as normal. My hope is that the Black Beauty & Fashion Constituency Award will help to make that day come sooner.” said Chi Onwurah MP.
